Plain Samian ware pottery base sherd of a Dr.18 type straight-sided bowl, Flavian period in date, c.AD 68-96. Some of slip remains on both the internal and external surfaces and there is a moulded ridge running along one edge of the interior, marking the edge of the base, before the sherd starts to rise up towards the wall of the bowl.De la Bedoyere (1988) illustrates a drawing of a complete bowl on page 54, Fig.44, No.5, which is dated from the mid to late 1st century AD.
