Incomplete cast copper alloy Medieval strap end. It is a two plate strapend with two circular rivets aligned along the midline of the plates to the top and bottom. The plates are tongue-shaped with a small flat knop projection from the closed end; the strap end has no further decoration. The two plates are riveted so that there is a narrow V-shaped space between the two with the lower rivet drawing the two plates together and the upper rivet also accommodating the now absent textile or leather strap. It has a dark green patina and measures 24.16mm long x 14.68mm wide the plates are 0.76 mm thick and it weighs 3.4 grams.Refer to KENT-332C56, DENO-FF1146, LEIC-2468D3 and IOW-C22808 for similar types.
