An Iron Age vessel body sherd. Dates between c800 BC and c100 AD. The vessel realtes to the Dubonnii tribe whose capital was based on Cirencester or Corinium Dubonnorum as it was known in Roman times a Civitas until 409AD and Gloucester known as Colonia Neviana Glevum. The Dubonnii lived in small villages concentrated in fertile valleys.There is evidence for a cult associated with the tribe in the Romano-British period; the evidence being coterminous with the tribe's territory.
