Lloyd Branson, 1853 - 1925 · 1898
The oil painting of Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) rendered by artist Lloyd Branson in 1898 is a copy of Joseph Siffred Duplessis’s famous life portrait of Franklin commissioned while Franklin was in Paris in 1779. This composition is similar to the portrait (museum id 0.23371.2) painted by artist Charles Ayer Whipple that is also in the National Postal Museum's collection.
