A copper-alloy coin weight for a coin of James I.The weight is double-sided and square in plan. The obverse bears a portrait of the king, crowned, facing right and has the legend 'IR-BRI'. On the reverse is a crown above the value 'XI[s]' (11 shillings), with a smaller crowned letter 'I' stamped in the top left corner. The weight is heavily corroded. It measures 14.4mm wide, 14.5mm high and 3.2mm thick. The weight is 4.69g.This weight was issued for a Double Crown in James I's 2nd, revalued coinage of 1604-1619 (cf. Withers and Withers 1995: 13, XIs a).
