Medieval coin; silver cut halfpenny of Scottish King Alexander III, long cross and stars first coinage (1250-c.1280), moneyer Walter, unknown mint, Spink 5042-8. Diameter 17.5mm, width 9.0mm, weight 0.70g.Walter worked at Berwick (classes 3, 7, 8), 'Dun' (classes 3, 4), 'Fres' (classes 3, 7, 8) Glasgow (classes 2, 3, 4, 8) and Montrose (class 3). What can be seen of the portrait suggests this is Class 3 (Spink 5043).
