1253
A cut half hammered silver coin of Henry III and dating from c1253 to c1256AD. It is a voided long cross penny and half is either a Henry III class 5b2 or a class 5c2 ( It is impossible to tell which as the bottom of the portrait is missing). The coin would have had a sceptre due to the ob legend starting at 11' O clock and the style of the crown with a well defined central fleur and side pellets. The coin is a Canterbury mint. The length is 18mm, 9mm wide and the weight is .67g.
