Medieval coin: a hammered silver penny of Henry III (AD1216-1272), voided long cross type V. According to the reverse legend, the coin was minted by Ricard, but the coin appears to be of Type Va, and none of the moneyers of this period were named Ricard. Moreover, the execution of the portrait is unusual, suggesting that this coin may be a contemporary copy.
