A silver thimble, now in two pieces. On opposite sides of the thimble are portrait busts within oval frames. One depicts Charles II facing left; the other is very worn but may have been Queen Catherine. Below the portrait of Charles and within a plain band which runs around the rim are the inscribed owner's initials SM. The maker's mark G within a shield is stamped in the interior near the rim.
