POST MEDIEVAL COIN

Specialist Report:I have examined two coins reported found at Dallington, East Sussex. Both are silver shillings and, although in extremely worn condition, the outline of the portrait shows them to be issues of King William III, and thus produced in the years 1694-1702. Any further details are illegible. They would be of the traditional sterling standard, 92.5% fine metal. William III's silver coinage survived in use deep into the 18th century and often became extremely worn, sometimes to the point of near total illegibility.
