A lead vesica-shaped (pointed oval) seal matrix. Face completely blank; raised design of a fleur-de-lys on the reverse, incorporating the remains of a suspension loop, undrilled, at the bottom of the fleur-de-lys. The suspension loop would have been at the apex of the matrix when the legend was added on the face. Measurements: 21.5 mm x 33 mm, 3.5 mm thick.The fleur-de-lis is extremely common on the face and reverse of such matrices, although not usually found on both on the same piece.
