MEDIEVAL FINGER RING

A Medieval silver iconographic finger-ring of fifteenth century date (AD 1400 - AD 1500). Possible treasure case. The ring has a ridged bezel forming two facets, which has been engraved with a figure of a saint. The engraving is now worn so only partially visible. The ridged shoulders are also engraved with very worn designs, possibly flowers. The band is plain, rectangular in section and is 4.5mm wide and 1.5mm thick. The bevel is 8.2mm wide, 18.6mm long and 1.7mm thick. The ring measures 20.8mm in diameter and weighs 4.2g.
