MEDIEVAL THIMBLE

A Post Medieval copper alloy thimble, dating 16th-17th century. There is a linear engraving running around the base of the thimble, creating a border. The indentations on this piece are square and the small size may suggest this object was intended for a child. It is difficult to ascribe an exact date through decoration alone but this thimble probably dates between AD 1530-1700 although there is no maker's mark.
