POST MEDIEVAL UNIDENTIFIED OBJECT

Metal plaque, possibly brass(?). It seems to have some kind of engraving on the obverse, while being plain on the reverse, however, the pattern is difficult to make out - possibly an animal (stag?). The edges are undulating and framed with a dotted line. It may have been a metal tag for, e.g. a dog collar, etc.
