Personal silver seal matrix, post-medieval 17th-18th century in date. Short tapering hexagonal-section handle surmounted by 2 hexagonal collars, a circular suspension loop and a hexagonal knop. There is no legend on the seal although an elaborate pictoral engraving can be found. This depicts two birds facing each other, beaks touching. Each has a flower at their back and there is a heart with an arrow through below their feet. Above the birds heads there is a ‘halo’ with three surrounding plant sprigs.
