Medieval end-cap from scale-tang knife, folded sheet forming hexagonally sectioned cap with separate soldered end-plate with rove, pierced by narrowed end of iron tang, 31 x 26mm. Large transverse rivet through cap and corroded remains of iron tang. Central face on both sides decorated with multiple engraved lines forming pair of lozenges each containing an engraving of a possible leaf/ear of corn. 15th-16th century.
