Incomplete medieval sheet copper alloy rectangular mount, one narrow edge missing. Two median repoussé ribs flank a row of five round punched holes. On both sides a pair of engraved lines enclose oblique rows of rocker-arm engraving, each one flanked by lines. These rows alternate with wavy lines and punched dots. Very close to the break there are two rivet holes, one with a rivet. The three extant edges are curved back slightly towards the reverse. Black material in patches on the reverse may be lacquer. No close parallel has been noted, but there is broad similarity with Margeson 1993, no. 279 and Egan and Pritchard 1991, no. 1059. Extant length 31.3mm. Width 27.7mm. 14th century.
