Medieval Buckle, trapezoidal frame (19 x 44mm) with triangular moulding in centre of outside edge, bordered by two ribs, vertical rib before knop at both ends of narrowed bar, cast flattened D-sectioned pin with open loop, short rectangular buckle-plate folded widthways (17 x 42mm), lines of rocker-arm with blank median line where masked-off when engraving to produce the effect of addorsed triangles forming horizontal lines on loops and vertical line of linked lozenges on stamped field within border on face of plate, pierced by three globular-headed rivets. 12th century.
