Outer, front plate of Medieval composite strap-end with two rivets at damaged attachment edge, parallel sides and incomplete outside edge. Decorated with a pair of median lines of narrow rocker-arm engraving and with oblique lines of the same between them and outside them. A much wider rocker-arm zig-zag is arranged as a chevron. Thinly spread silvery solder is visible over most of the reverse, but the disposition of the rivets suggests that the spacer was probably of the forked type. Length >48mm. Width 19mm. 14th century.
