The Portable Antiquities Scheme

An incomplete unidentified object with openwork and engraved decoration that is to be viewed from both sides, and part of one curving edge extant. A figure, with eyes as blind-drilled holes and other features lightly engraved, is posed in a contorted position beneath a branch ending in a trefoil. There is further engraving on the torso. One arm is shown and the upper part of one leg remains. >30mm x >20mm. Perhaps 12th or 13th century.
