Fragment of gilt mount, probably a furniture fitting, broken at both ends and across division between two cusped edges on one side, the other side straight, plain borders around cusps and along straight edge, with transverse reserved pointed oval between, on a field of transverse lines of finely engraved interrupted rocker-arm engraving giving the appearance of tiny addorsed triangles and is pierced by a rivet-hole. The edge of the smaller cusp projects forward, as if for a setting, and is pierced by a tiny rivet-hole. >18 x >35mm. 12th-13th century
