The Portable Antiquities Scheme

Post-medieval copper alloy hooked clasp of abnormal form. The proximal end is convex and the main part tapers towards a pair of lateral projections before the hook. There are two rivet holes, one near the hook and at the centre of a punched ring, and the other near the proximal end, filled with iron and at the centre of a pair of concentric rings. The area between the holes is decorated with lines of rocker-arm engraving. Length 40mm. Width 14mm. 16th century.A5 on annotated aerial photograph in file.
