POST MEDIEVAL BUCKLE

Post-medieval copper alloy buckle, asymmetrical frame, one loop trapezoidal, the other D-shaped, with the remains of an iron plate and pin. There is some resemblance to Whitehead 2003, no. 593, but all decorative details, openwork, knops and engraving on the straight (outside) edge are paralleled by those on another Norfolk example (HER 40532, NMS-195D16). 31.7 x 15.2mm. c.1575 - c.1700.
