Cast copper mount, probably from furniture, in the form of a facing lion's head. The surface is quite corroded but some of the original engraving survives, two lentoid eyes with drilled holes forming the pupils, and curvilinear decoration framing the head to form a mane. The border is formed by a backward sloping collar of uneven width. An iron attachment rivet (with some copper alloy sheathing) is contained within the hollow back of the mount and traces of the iron are present on the lion's nose, presumably where this has penetrated through the copper alloy.
