Fragment of a sheet copper alloy medieval mount with a mass of lead alloy on the reverse which probably acted as a fixative. The object now consists of a circular dome and a rectangle, but it is uncertain whether this reflects the shape of the complete mount, all edges probably being breaks. Decoration comprises two saltires formed from lines of finely executed interrupted rocker-arm engraving giving the appearance of tiny addorsed triangles. 34.5 x 21.5mm. The lead alloy is up to 5mm thick. 13th - 15th century.
