Strap-end consisting of two pieces of copper-alloy sheet now held together by a single separate copper-alloy rivet at one end. One plate is more highly polished and is decorated with a saltire of rocker-arm engraving at the attachment edge. The strap-end tapers from 10 mm wide at the attachment edge to 8 mm wide just before a series of cut-outs herald the start of the terminal. This is broken at a second rivet hole but was probably originally quite long and elaborate. There appears to be a scrap of textile retained between the plates at the attachment end. Total surviving length 48.5 mm. 14th century.
