Treasure Case 2008 T757"Hollow silver sheet bent into a circle, one side with engraved ornament of leaves and scrolls. It has been suggested that this may have been the mount for a scent bottle made of some other material, or perhaps a pomander, but this is only a hypothesis. The engraving style however suggests a 16th or 17th Century date, though this too is tentative. As such, due to its age and precious metal content, this object qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996. Dr Dora Thornton, Curator of Renaissance Collections"
