Micaiah prophesies against Ahab

Engraving on paper of Micaiah prophesying against Ahab from a series of Old Testament stories, published by Jan Sadeler (1550-1600) after a design by Maarten de Vos (1532-1603), probably in Cologne in 1582. Latin text inscribed below refers to 3 Kings 22. Jehoshaphat, King of Judah, request the aid of Ahab, King of Israel, to take over Ramoth Gilead. Contradicting the other prophets, Micaiah tells Ahab not to attack. He suggests that a lying spirit has spoken through the prophets, leading the prophet Zedekiah to slap him in the presence of the two kings. Ahab is killed in battle, fulfilling Micaiah’s prophecy.
