Cast copper alloy strap mount, this is elliptoid shaped with two concave notches either side of the log edge, at the top. At the base is a triangular projection with a roundel terminal that ha s a rivet hole in the centre, there is a second rivet hole at the top, both are encrusted with iron corrosion. The face of the plate is decorated with a male head facing left with a beard and high pecked round toped hat that is similar to examples seen in Dutch painting from the 17th century. Above and to the side of the head are foliate patterns. There is a truncated rod, possibly a hook, on the top edge. This artefact dates to the 17th century.
