Former member of the Nobel Prize delection committee, Kaare Kristiansen was greeted by over 1,500 Israelis and awarded him with a prize of honour. Kristiansen, a former Norwegian Minister of Energy, resigned from his Nobel post in protest at the decision to award the prize to Arafat. At the gathering, Kritiansen called the Arafat prize an insult to former laureates. He appeared to reveal in the greeting he was given, declaring: I am so happy I am here tonight and not in Oslo. Photo shows Portrait of Kaare Kristiansen.
