An incomplete lead alloy miniature (toy) jug or tankard dating to the Post-medieval period. The toy is cast in two pieces, the seam still visible along the side; the toy consists of a complete base, a side handle and approximately one quarter of the original length of the sides. Although there is a pattern and an inscription on the reverse, it is too worn to make out and no other examples of toy jugs with basal inscriptions could be found. However, toy jugs, as well as other miniature everyday items, were mass produced during Medieval and Post-medieval periods. It is suggested that this item dates to the latter, c. 16th Century, or possibly slightly later.
