Cast copper-alloy miniature terret dating from the Iron Age to Roman period, circa 300 BC to AD 100. A sub- circular ring which is D-shaped in section. The attachment bar is narrower than the rest of the hoop and shows signs of wear. The hoop thickens slightly as it approaches the attachment bar. The terret measures 19.58mm in width and 20.09mm in height externally. The maximum width of the bar is 6.19mm and its maximum thickness is 4.09mm. The attachment bar is only 5.1mm long. Weight 6g. It has a greyish green patina and patches of lighter green corrosion product. The miniature terret is believed to have been designed to take a strap, possibly a belt.
