Medieval silver gilt brooch with protruding clasped hands. Length 20.91mm, diameter of ring 14.04mm, thickness at hands 3.60mm, thickness of ring 0.90mm, weight 0.54g. British Museum Curator's Report: A medieval, miniature brooch, triangular in section and in the form of a simple ring terminating in two joined hands. An arrangement of three grooves acts as a pin rest opposite the recess to the pin attachment. A similar arrangement of grooves is placed roughly to balance the position of the joined hands. The pin is missing. The brooch is silver gilt and dates from the fourteenth century. A much finer example was found in mid-Norfolk in 1998, now held at Swaffham Museum, Norfolk.
