ROMAN TERRET RING

Cast copper alloy miniature terret ring from the Roman period.It is D-shaped in section with the reverse being flat and the front slightly domed. It is sub-circular in plan, measuring 19.02mm by 20.89mm in diameter, with the ring widening at the top then narrowing again towards the bottom. At the base is a small sub-triangular moulding which is raised on both front and reverse with a central groove.
