Medieval coin; Scottish silver penny of Alexander III (second coinage 1280-1286), John Baliol (1291-1296), Robert the Bruce (1306-1329), David II (1329-1371) or Robert II (1371-1390). Probably Alexander III from what can be seen of portrait & style. Incomplete, roughly 1/3rd of the coin broken off. Length (not quite diameter) 17.9mm, width 14.6mm, weight 0.71g.
