Lead votive model axe that has an overall wedge shape, the blade of the axe is angled and there us a small rectangular slot in the opposite wider end. The axe has been formed from a sheet of lead that has been folded in two, with the seam is near the blade.Small axes are the most common miniature votive artefact found of roman religious site and temples with examples found at the shrines at Uley, Lydney and Nettleton Shrub.
