Cast copper alloy miniature cannon, similar to naval guns of the later nineteenth century. Originally it would probably have been mounted on either a gun carriage or wheels. There is some damage to the muzzle, probably due to an explosion when it was fairly new. Many of these cannons were fired and are often found with exploded barrels from mis-fires. There are good parallels on the PAS database, SUSS-494CB2 is nearly identical and LIN-8FE5B6, LANCUM-440420, IOW-8B08B7 are very similar. The length is 52mm, the thickness is 19mm and the width is 24mm. The gun dates sometime between c1750 and 1900AD, but probably last half of the nineteenth century.
