A Roman incomplete copper alloy miniature Colchester derivative two-piece brooch dating late 1st century AD. This brooch has semi-circular wings which would enclose the spring mechanism that is no longer present. There is a perforated tab in the centre of the wings through which the spring would pass. The curved bow is decorated with moulded grooves that follow the line of the bow towards the foot. The catchplate is perforated. The pin is no longer present. The copper alloy has a dark green patina which is worn in places.
