A Medieval copper alloy miniature annular buckle (13th – 14th century). The circular buckle frame has no constriction for the pin. The pin comprises a piece of wire wrapped around the frame with the tip shaped to form a point. The frame has been cast with moulded decorated to resemble twisted rope. Egan & Pritchard (1991:57-60) show similar sized examples that are undecorated and they note that the function is uncertain.Dimensions: diameter: 13.76mm; thickness: 1.92mm; weight: 1.08g.Reference: Egan G. and Pritchard F. 1991.
