Lead alloy Toy Cannon. Barrel of a toy gun with mould line from a two piece mould. Unlike the miniature guns from London (see Forsyth and Egan 2005), this was made as a two part model, this segment extending from muzzle to behind the trunnions; as it is thin walled, the 'breech' section may have been heavier if the gun were to be fired. Traces of four circumferential moulded lines appear towards the wide end. There is a small hole near one trunnion and the muzzle is slightly splayed. The object was found with a milled slate pencil fragment (of length 42.3mm) as would be used in a schoolroom inserted into it.
