Lead alloy unidentified object. Cast three-dimensional object, with a hemispherical hollow base. The object is apparently intended to be viewed from one side, and comprises a miniature tableau of leaves and flowers from which spring a pair of antler beams positioned as if in their natural relationship on the head of a stag, each retaining part of one branch and presumably having lost a further extent of the beams and several more branches. Patinated overall. This may be an accessory to an activity such as flower arrangement or table decoration, and the antlers hint at a venereal [i.e. one concerning hunting] or rural interest. This may alternatively be a 'fairing' or novelty. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1800-1900.Height: 21.2mm, Width: 34.8mm, Thickness (base): 2.7mm, Weight: 20.14gms.
