Cast and turned upper detachable piece from a miniature flask of Roman date. The base of the piece has incised decoration consisting of rather irregular diagonal marks. The neck is decorated with red enamel contained within seven barbed triangular cells, resembling flames. There is a slight step on the neck, before if flares to the mouth. The artefact has a central perforation. The base has two integral right-angled lugs for attachment to the miniature flask body by means of a bayonet-style mechanism. The underside of the piece has been filed, while the interior remains rough from the casting.
