MEDIEVAL UNIDENTIFIED OBJECT

A copper-alloy unidentified object now in two halves. It consists of a strip of copper-alloy now bent into a U-shape measuring 77.9mm in length and 3.25mm in width. There is a central elongated split measuring c23.6mm in length. The terminals of the object are bent over to form open loops. Traces of a white metal coating can also be seen. No parallel could be found for this object, it was perhaps likely to have been stright originally and is bent through damage. It could be medieval or perhaps early post medieval in date. It might possibly be the handle of a miniature tub or bucket.
