Early Post Medieval copper alloy miniature cauldron of Forsyth & Egan type 2, with one of (originally three) short 'bun feet' surviving and a tiny tear in the rim. It stands 23.5mm high, has a max.width of 21.5mm and weighs 19.53g.The cauldron has a rounded base (21.5mm in diameter) and a squat form. The surviving foot is triangular in section and measures 3.7x3.1x3.6mm. Worn bumps on the other base at third-intervals suggest where the other two feet would have been.The cauldron narrows at the neck to 15mm in diameter and has a 5-6mm wide rim flaring upwards and outwards, 18mm in diameter at the top edge. The internal neck measurement is 10.5mm.The handles curve from below the neck to just before the top of the rim.Forsyth and Egan's type 2 miniature cauldrons date from possibly as early as the 14th century to the 16th and 17th century. This example is rather better-made (type 2 examples are often more crudely made) and has a slightly more prominent rim. The feet however are short, a feature of this type.
