A very worn and incomplete copper-alloy miniature axehead, measuring 18mm in height and 17mm in width. The axehead is flat, roughly triangular shape and on one face two central longitudinal grooves can be seen, these may be representing the binding used to attach the axehead to its shaft. The shaft is circular in cross-section and is at the wider end of the axehead it also projects from the top edge of the axehead. The axehead and its shaft are incomplete due to some old and some relatively more recent breaks. This axehead is most likely to be Roman in date.
