The Portable Antiquities Scheme

A complete cast copper alloy toy miniature cannon of late post-medieval date. The toy is comprised of a circular barrel, or cascable, which tapers in diameter from the loop at one end to the muzzle at the other. Three sets of two parallel circumferential grooves are present evenly space along its length.The metal has a dark reddish-brown patina and is very worn. The cannon is 35.9mm long, 7.3mm in diameter tapering to 4.8mm, 0.7mm thick and weighs 4.4g.
