A complete copper alloy toy in the form of a miniature cauldron of medieval to post-medieval date. The object is a miniature tripod cauldron which is circular with a flared rim, waisted neck and bulbous body with a slightly flattened base. Three, equally spaced, circular sectioned legs project from the base of the vessel. The vessel has two handles, diametrically opposed, and attached to the rim and shoulder. One of the handles is roughly circular while the other is triangular, possibly as a result of a flawed casting. The metal has a mid-green patina and is slightly worn. The object is 15.2mm tall, 21.7mm wide (at the handles), 10.4mm in diameter, 2.6mm thick and weighs 5.7g.Similar examples have been recorded on the PAS database including SWYOR-A69E3B, LVPL-FDC6C7 and WMID-E6F6E4. A comparable example is also illustrated in Forsyth & Egan (2005), p.111, no.2.6 which is described as Type 1, Design 2 dating to the 15th - 16th century.
