An incomplete copper alloy toy miniature cannon of late post-medieval date. The toy is comprised of a circular barrel, or cascable, which tapers in diameter from the cascable to the muzzle. The cascable end is fluted with a raised rim and projecting knop at the end. Two trunnions, or basal lugs for attachment to a block or stock project midway along the barrel across whcih casting flashes remain. The muzzle is preceded by two, circumferential collars.The metal has a mid-brown patina and is worn. The cannon is 28.5mm long, 13.9mm wide at the trunnions, 6.3mm in diameter and weighs 2.9g.Numerous similar examples can be seen on the Portable Antiquities Scheme database including: Unique ID: SWYOR-E21697, IOW-9F60A7, LANCUM-EC68C8, YORYM-831B24 and YORYM-6A5AA5.
