The Portable Antiquities Scheme

Medieval two-piece strap-end with two rivets, one near the asymmetrical trefoil knop and the other near the straight attachment edge, the sides tapering very gently from the latter to the former. The front plate is decorated with an elongated saltire in rocker-arm engraving. Length 45mm. Width 9 – 8mm. 14th century.
