1700
An incomplete cast copper alloy toy miniature cannon of post-medieval date (AD 1700-1800). The distal end is missing due to an old break transversing diagonally downward from the left to right hand side. It has a cylindrical barrel that tapers towards a flaring open end. At the centre is a three stepped raised band from which extend integrally cast trunnions to attach the cannon to a carriage. The barrel itself is hollow with the proximal bore being approximately 10.6mm at the proximal end which terminates in an integral single stepped raised lip. Originally it would have had a small wooden carriage.
